Sitting in the Dr.'s Office....

So, there we sit......
Ty and I waiting at his dermatology appt. today. So many people also waiting... waiting... waiting... So many stories, I am sure! Ty brought a book to read.. he is completely occupied for the hour and a half! There I am filling out paperwork... then reading my Country HOME Magazine... then sewing on a Sampler a bit. I look around every now and then at all the people.

An older couple walks in with their son, who I am certain is in his mid to late 50's, pushing him in a state-of-the-art wheelchair. He has a lil' wooden tray hooked to the top if it with his name in stickers across the front TOM! His arms do not work nor his legs. I wonder if he has been disabled his entire life.I am sure he has. He cannot talk but can communicate with his parents just fine with smiles and such.

Now, this couple just has a great calmness about them. So peaceful. Everytime, the man looks at whom I presume is his son , he SMILES. It is no doubt a TRUE smile. He is not hinderanced. He takes care of him, gets him water, helps him drink it, wipes his mouth and SMILES, a TRUE smile. So I sit there and think about what Lee and I have been through with Ty compared to what this older couple has had to endure for over 50 years every day of their lives. They don't look exhausted. They don't look resentful. They look happy & blessed, truly blessed.

Mmmmmm......

I think that God has blessed them just as He has blessed us. When I see the older man smile at his son, I know this is true. I smile at Ty the same way! With my entire heart and nothing less!

So sitting in a doctor's office.... So many stories... So many people... So much to ponder...

Have a "TRUE" Smile Day!
